 Chief Brian R. Legendre

Fire Chief Brian Legendre was appointed to the fire department as a call firefighter January 4th, 1989. He was appointed to a career position July 4, 1993. Chief Legendre made his way through the ranks, becoming Lieutenant in January of 2000, then promoted to Deputy Chief in March of 2002. Four years later, in 2006, he became Fire Chief. He hold's the following certifications FF I/II, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Safety Officer, Haz-Mat Technician, Scuba Diver and Paramedic. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Fire Science from Providence College, and is a graduate of the Chief Fire Officers Program, U-Mass Donahue Institute. He served on the Union E-Board for several years during his tenure as a career firefighter, serving the members of L1802  as the Vice President from 1995-1998 and as Union President from 1998- 2002. The members of L1802 are proud to have him serve as our Chief and we commend him for working with us to bring the residents of Westport the best services possible. The Chief's office is at Station One, located on Main Rd.
